The Bright Art Gallery is a self-funding, community owned Gallery, managed and staffed by a Committee of Management.

The Annual Art Exhibition was commenced in 1962 with the Aim of establishing an Art Gallery in Bright. With the assistance of the Shire of Bright, the Gallery became a reality in December 1982. Competition entries were first exhibited in this gallery at the 1983 Autumn Art Exhibition.

The adjoining Enid West Gallery was completed and officially opened at the 1994 Autumn Art Exhibition.

A wonderful permanent collection of works of art has been built up over the years by the acquisition of the Section winners in the Annual Competition. Included in the Collection are also paintings donated or bequeathed to the Gallery, or bought by the Committee  to add diversity and variety to the Collection.
