"Annie's Dream: a History of the Bright Art Gallery & Cultural Centre" by Neville Garner.
Published in November 2003, this beautifully presented book outlines the struggle of a small community to establish its own Gallery.
Mary Delahunty in her Foreword says
"The History of the Bright Art Gallery is not just the story of one person's drive and passion; it's the story of a community's dream about itself"
The book features colour photographs of the Winners of the Annual Autumn Art Exhibition from 1983 - 2003, as well as "Significant Other Works" from the Permanent Collection.
Local artists who get a guernsey are Thomas Lawler, Lorna Chick, Mollie Hill, David Ashcroft, Tom Bradbury, Brian Elvish and Hans Knorr.
This great little book, very well written by the Gallery President Neville Garner, is available at the Gallery for $15. Please allow $2.50 for postage if applying by mail.
