The Bright Art Gallery is a non-profit, community managed and operated, volunteer organisation that has facilitated and supported the community’s artistic and cultural needs in Bright continuously since 1962. The Gallery is established as an experienced arts and culture presenter for the delivery of its varied program of events each year. We are proud to be presenting the Cafe Culture Series for the 7th year in succession. Whether you are local or a visitor to our region, we hope you can take this opportunity to experience the wonderful array of talent on offer in our town. We look forward to your company.
Cafe Culture Series 2020
Mary Souness, Manager of Just Shows To go, is delighted to invite you to the Cafe Culture Series 22nd birthday program, curated for your listening and viewing pleasure. The carefully selected subscription series of four events has an emphasis on praising originality, honouring traditions and valuing inventiveness. You will find music not just to listen to, but could easily inspire you to laugh, dance, reminisce, tap your foot, or sing along. Whilst you may not already be familiar with the acts, we trust you will find them interesting, impressive, inspiring and entertaining. ENJOY!

The Royal High Jinx

Melbourne’s mesmerising contemporary world music band The Royal High Jinx have burst onto Australian festival stages with originality, virtuosity and theatricality. Their songs and tunes are inspired by European traditions peppered with Gypsy Jazz, Latin, Balkan and Swing grooves with a pinch of Folk.

A new and inspiring Melbourne based band who present a program of Western Swing music from the likes of Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, Faron Young and the wonderful “Asleep at the Wheel”. Featuring Ben Franz, Steve Temple, Jacob McGuffie and Brooke Russell on vocals also showcasing a sprinkling of Brooke’s original songs.

A new show specifically devised for the Cafe Culture Series. Powerhouse talent & winner of Performer of the Year 2017 MBAS award, Kelly Auty is joined by her fiendishly proficient musical friends Sarah Carroll, Lisette Payet, Felecia Bassgal & Jen Hawley in a show designed to make you laugh out loud at a fist full of funny songs & gasp at the divine harmonies.
La Busca Tango

Be transported from a time of great romance, passion & eloquence to modern day Australia. Piano guitar, violin, double bass & flute provide backing for Argentinian singer & dancer Juan Vernon. They specialise in traditional tangos from early 20th century Argentina & contemporary Australian composed music.
