Frances works in a variety of media, Oils, Pastels, Watercolour, Pencil, Inks, Mixed Media and Glass – Leadlight, Stained Glass, Fused and Slumped Glass. When creating a work of art the medium is carefully selected to enhance the purpose being portrayed. Colour, proportion and value are major components of the design process to which Frances pays detailed attention. From these atmosphere and mood are produced.

All Frances’s works are inspired by nature and the environment within which she lives, works and visits. Frances works in a variety of modes. Sometimes she works in a finely defined realistic manner, through to impressionistic and surrealist mode, other times in an expressionistic abstract manner. The medium in which a piece of work is created will often define the level of abstraction of the finished art.
